As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll play a crucial role in our technical team, leveraging your expertise in PHP and related technologies to architect, build, and maintain robust backend solutions while mentoring junior team members and maintaining high coding standards. 
<h3>Tech Stack</h3>
- Primary: PHP (with modern OOP principles), MySQL - Desirable Skills: Symfony / Laravel, Python, Bash, Docker 
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>

<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Mentor more junior team members</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Independently plan tasks, conduct research, solve problems, and fulfil requirements</li>

<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Follow and suggest improvements to coding standards and design patterns</li>

<h3>Requirements</h3>

<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Strong experience with PHP, particularly within a modern framework</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Strong experience with developing technical designs and documentation utilising industry standard architectural and design patterns and practices</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Proficient with MySQL database design and optimization</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Strong appreciation for the principles of effective unit testing and its role in maintainable, reliable software</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Experience working in agile development environments</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Demonstrable history of mentoring junior developers</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">Strong communication skills, especially in a remote environment</li>
<li style="font-family: helvetica;">A comfortable, quiet space to work, with a fast and reliable internet connection </li>

We are a hybrid/remote team based in the UK and Netherlands with an office in Rotterdam. Candidates must be legally authorised to work within the UK or Netherlands without the need for CultureSuite’s sponsorship for an immigration-related employment benefit (i.e. work visa, work permit, etc.
