<div><strong>Role Responsibilities:</strong></div>

<div>We are seeking a reliable and motivated Laboratory Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our laboratory in Bristol. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining an efficient, well-organised, and compliant laboratory environment.</div>

<div>The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the lab is clean, well-stocked, and running smoothly, with opportunities to gain exposure to routine laboratory activities and develop technical skills over time.</div>

<div>This role is well suited to an individual looking to build experience within a laboratory environment and develop practical skills in laboratory support and operations.</div>

<div><strong>Your responsibilities will include:&nbsp;</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory and office environment in line with health and safety standards</li>
<li>Safely handle and dispose of laboratory waste, including biological and chemical waste, in accordance with established procedures</li>
<li>Monitor laboratory consumables and maintain stock levels</li>
<li>Receive, unpack, and organise deliveries of lab and office supplies</li>
<li>Assist with inventory tracking and ordering of reagents, consumables, and office/lab materials</li>
<li>Ensure storage areas (including fridges, freezers, cupboards) are clean, tidy and correctly labelled</li>
<li>Prepare basic buffers, solutions, and media under supervision (where appropriate)</li>
<li>Wash, sterilise, and prepare glassware and lab equipment</li>
<li>Support lab set-up for experiments and routine workflows</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of stock usage and routine checks</li>
<li>Assist with documentation and compliance tasks (SOPs, checklists, lab logs)</li>
<li>Support the wider lab team with general operational tasks as needed</li>
</ul>

<div>We are open to varied backgrounds for this role but are looking for candidates who bring most of the following key, along with some desirable, skills and experiences:</div>

<li>Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent)</li>
<li>Strong organisational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Willingness to carry out practical support duties, including cleaning and stock management</li>
<li>Ability to work reliably and independently on routine tasks</li>
<li>Positive attitude toward teamwork and shared lab responsibilities</li>
<li>Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication</li>
</ul>
<div><strong>Desirable:</strong></div>

<li>A-levels, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science subject.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing, or technical support environment</li>
<li>Familiarity with laboratory health and safety practices</li>
<li>Experience with stock control, inventory systems, or ordering processes</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence</li>
