<div>The Clubs and Societies Coordinator supports and develops student-led groups, ensuring they are well-governed, inclusive and equipped to provide enriching extracurricular experiences for all students. This role champions equity, diversity and student leadership and works to create spaces where all students feel represented.</div>

<div>The Clubs and Societies Coordinator (Culture, Faith and Liberation) acts as the primary point of contact for clubs and societies and is responsible for the administration of all processes and procedures, including the specific policies in place to effectively manage and develop the clubs and societies that fall under the ‘Culture and Faith’ and ‘Political and Campaigning’ categories.&nbsp;</div>

<div>The role also supports the SUBU Liberation Networks to foster a sense of community for marginalised groups through the administration of relevant processes and procedures, and facilitate collaboration with other key Union stakeholders such as associated Part-Time Officers. &nbsp; It will focus on student-led mobilisation of these communities and work on allyship across all.</div>

<div>This role is responsible for maintaining and updating information systems to ensure an accurate service delivery to students. The clubs and societies individual budgets and financial procedures are also overseen by the role, giving support to student leaders to manage these finances effectively and available funding.&nbsp;</div>

<div>This role will also collaborate on the creation and delivery of a training package for students, tailoring topics as appropriate as part of supporting club and societies committee members in their roles and developing their employability skills.</div>

<div>This role maintains an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance and passing this knowledge onto students to ensuring that risk assessments and other safety measures are implemented effectively.&nbsp;</div>

<div>The role will work within the wider Student Opportunities Team to support the work of team and develop the diverse range of student-led clubs and societies at SUBU, encouraging student-led activity and group activations.</div>

<div>Promotion of the service offered by the Student Opportunities Department is required by this role and there is a responsibility to ensure the service is fit for maximum engagement from our wide diversity of members and actively seek to remove barriers where they exist.</div>

<div><strong>Key Tasks</strong></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<ul>
<li>Administration Duties: email &amp; diary management, administrative procedures relating to clubs and societies finances, training, health and safety and record keeping. This role will also provide administrative support for a range of activity types, up to and including large scale Events and International Trips.</li>
<li>Communication Duties: verbal and written communication between stakeholders, student committees, SUBU staff, Full-time Officers, University staff, and other external contacts, through multiple platforms.</li>
<li>Organisational Duties: support the organisation and running of the department, prompting staff and students for input into various matters and development activities throughout the year</li>
<li>Data Duties: maintain and manage various records and information systems.</li>
<li>Project Duties: coordinate and administer a variety of projects, campaigns, activities, or initiatives as directed by students and Full-time Officers.</li>
<li>Analytical Duties: Collecting feedback formally and informally to review and update processes to enhance engagement and reduce barriers to participation.</li>
<li>Key Union Events Duties: when asked to assist with the promotion, organisation and administration of key department activities and larger Union events such as Freshers, Summer Ball, Student Awards.</li>
<li>Advice and Guidance Duties: Supporting student, Union and Officer projects, campaigns and events, supporting committee members with learning &amp; development in their roles.</li>
<li>Mentoring Duties: Organise create and deliver training for clubs and societies committee members and support students in their annual AGMs and Elections.</li>
<li>Welfare Support: Act as a key signposting body for student support and wellbeing resources available through SUBU, BU and external channels where relevant.</li>
<li>Financial Duties: Monitor clubs’ budgets and funding as part of the Student Opportunities Department budget, oversee the inventory process for Department assets, organise, attend and influence Clubs and Societies Awarding Committee meetings to issue club funding and instate new groups</li>
<li>Strategic Duties: Contribute to and implement operational plans and departmental objectives.</li>
<li>Reviewing &amp; Evaluation Duties: Assist in the review of current processes and sector best practice to support in the continuous improvement and development of student opportunities.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Engagement duties: to encourage student engagement, ensuring that the functions of the Union have a strong presence on campus.</li>
<li>Networking Duties: close cross working with others within the department, Union Officers, other Student Engagement Departments, other SUBU teams, contacts in BU and external organisations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Compliance Duties: maintaining training records for risk assessments, first aid including accident reporting, and health &amp; safety.</li>
