Wild Bioscience was founded in 2021 by Ross Hendron (now CEO) and Steve Kelly, who remains a Professor of Plant Sciences at the University of Oxford.
<br><br>Our mission is to tackle the challenges of global food security and climate change by pioneering a revolutionary approach to crop improvement.
Wild plants thrive in every environment on Earth, and our aim is to make crops more productive and climate resilient by integrating expertise in evolution, machine learning, and plant physiology.<br><br>To quote Ross: “We’re facing two planetary scale challenges – how are we going to produce more crops to feed an increasingly hungry planet, and how are we going to decarbonise our atmosphere?” We believe our approach will allow us to grow more food with less resources, resulting in a healthier, more sustainable, and wilder planet.

Wild Bio is a fast-growing, well-funded spin-out from the University of Oxford, working from state-of-the-art labs and offices at Milton Park, Oxfordshire.</p>
<h2 class="MsoNormal"><strong>Role summary:</strong></h2>
<p>We are seeking a motivated PhD/DTP student to join Wild Bio’s Validation team for a 12-week internship, where you will support our R&amp;D platform. As part of the internship, you will be involved in proof-of-concept work to test new traits using Arabidopsis transformation and conducting biochemical assays on whole plants. Additionally, you will contribute to advancing our broader R&amp;D pipelines.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You should currently be a PhD/DTP student looking for experience in industry. You must have experience in plant research, and a keen interest in sustainable agriculture.</p>
